Gate
Advisory mode
In advisory mode nothing changes for the people doing the work. Gate decides and records; the person still acts exactly as before. What changes is that every decision now has a verdict.
The daily digest
Every morning at 05:00 UTC (07:00 or 08:00 in Helsinki) the environment's person receives one mail listing the decisions of the day before: time, actor, action, amount, what Gate said and why. Each decision carries three links:
- I did it: the action was carried out as proposed.
- I refused it: the person did not do it.
- I did something else: the person acted differently.
A link opens a page in the console; the verdict is recorded only when the person presses the button on that page, never on the click in the mail, so mail clients that open links ahead record nothing. Links are personal and expire after 14 days. An answer can be changed from the same link.
The mail carries what the decision record keeps and nothing else: no customer content under any retention mode.
The console
The same verdicts can be given on any decision in the console, and an
integration that knows what happened can post them itself with
POST /v1/decisions/{decision_id}/review. All three land in the same report.
The agreement report
The report joins every verdict to Gate's decision over a window of days:
| It shows | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| How often Gate and the person agree | the headline figure |
| Where Gate held what the person did | the allows that could be automatic |
| Every disagreement, false allows first | what to fix before Gate acts |
The report is available in the console under Agreement and from Työäly on request.
When Gate starts to act
Only when the report says it may, and only on the allows, action type by action type. The move is
a decision recorded with you, not a switch an agent flips. Until then an allow is advice.
